I'm Sick and Pregnant!: Part I

I'm sick and pregnant! I was hoping this wouldn't happen during my pregnancy.

The good news is that it is Friday night and I don't have to work tomorrow. I can just rest and get well. Even though you can take tylenol occasionally while you are pregnant to relieve pain, I try my best not to take any over-the-counter drugs during my pregnancy. I took tylenol once during my pregnancy thus far because I had a throbbing toothache that lasted a couple of days. Once the third day hit and my tooth was still throbbing, I took one extra strength tylenol pill. That did the trick.

To remedy my cold (sore throat, running nose, and coughs), I am drinking peppermint tea with honey and hot water mixed with lemon and honey. This definitely quiets my coughs and soothes my sore throat while my baby has no risk of toxins entering his/her body. Also, I plan to sleep, sleep, sleep and rest, rest, rest this weekend so I can function at work on Monday.

Have you ever been sick during your pregnancy, and if so, what did you use as a cure?

Happy Friday Night!
